Neicole,
What great info to help new users and parents get started with FaceBook and other social media sites. I'll forward to my friends. Appreciate the thoroughness and the tips.

Thanks, Sam. What a nice thing to say! You made my Friday!

Thank you, as well, Elizabeth. Some people seem to have strong feelings about the Discussion area of LinkedIn. Given that he voiced his opinion so strongly, I didn't feel bad about debating strongly back. I don't think his intentions were bad, though. Still, I was happy when that exchange was over!

I saw your post and thought there was nothing wrong with it.

There is a wrong way to use LinkedIn and Twitter - to vent your frustrations, impose your superior attitude and criticize others for posting some helpful advice, as the individual in question did when commenting on your post. In this case, I would call it "unsocial media."

I was appalled at his lack of civility and poor manners. He was in fight mode and wouldn't back down.

I'm relatively new to social media so I have a limited experience with people who use it this way. If a teenage boy acted this way I could overlook his attitude due to immaturity, but not a grown man!
